Fakie Airs and Rollbacks
Description: Fakie is where you ride backwards, pedaling backwards unless you have a freecoaster, in which you dont have to pedal backwards. Most pros do tricks to fakie. Regular old bikers like us just do airs or spins to fakie. The rollback part of this trick is that transitional trick in between riding fakie and forward that you need to know.
Pre-Requisites: None really since this is a basic trick, but be pretty comfortable not being able to see your landing and with a 1/4 pipe in general.
What You Need: The way I'm going to describe it you'll need a 1/4 pipe and some distance after your landing.
How-To: I'll show you guys the fakie air and then the rollback as one trick.
1) Approach the 1/4 pipe straight on, perpendicular so that the path you roll up is the path you roll back. Start out slow at first, then start blasting airs.
2) When you can't go up the ramp any more, bunnyhop up and put your wheels back down, you're momentum will carry you straight backwards.
3) Sit on your seat and pedal backwards at about the same speed as your pedals are being forced to be spinned. You're now riding FAKIE.
now here's the rollback part
4) so you're riding fakie and your pedals are parrellel with the ground. It make take some backpedaling to get into this position, but the trick depends on this
5) Turn your bars to the opposite way you spin (i spin to the right, so i turn my bars to the left). You'll be spinning on the ground backwards with your front tire spinning backwards (got that?!).
6) When your spin reaches a 90 degree angle raise up your front wheel ( you'll be pivoting on your back wheel) and pedal so that you stay on your back wheel.
7) Point your bars in the direction of your spin so that you can cheat on the spin (remind you of my tips for 1/4 pipe airs?). Start cranking forwards so that you can keep your balance.

I learned this trick on a tree ride (a dirt bank to a tree trunk) so if you dont have immediate access to a 1/4 pipe go and build a tree ride.
